Monday, March 2nd, 2009 at 12:41 am

Gmail OfflineGmail now can used offline. This offline mode is integrated within Google Labs.

While logged online, Gmail is synchronized with the mail server and when the connection is lost, the system will automatically switch to “offline mode” asing the data stored on the hard disk. You can read the messages, turn on the labels and do all the usual tasks. Any message you send is sent to the outbox and when you return to be connected automatically sent.

The service is now available to users in the U.S. or UK, but is expected to begin to appear in other countries soon. To activate it you must:

1. Log Settings -> Labs
2. Select “Enable offline Gmail”
3. When you load a new browser, you will see an option “Offline0.1″ in the upper right corner of your account.
