Friday, September 19th, 2008 at 3:29 pm

John Esposito is the CEO of WEA Record Label (Warner, Elektra, Atlantic) , a market leading music corporation. In this interesting and exclusive video interview, John Esposito talks about artists and the music industry. If you are interested in the world of music or want to become an artist, this informative interview will like you.

John also talks about topics such as the risks that the big music labels takes nowadays and the hard it is for an Artist to get signed in today’s music industry. It’s interesting the part where John says that they’re not looking for perfect artists but they do look for unique talents with enough artist’s potential. That is the big record labels are looking for.

John also explains what is a 360 deal -also known as the Multi Right Deal-. With this deal, the record labels get about 70-85% of album sales, plus a cut of tour sales, merchandising and publishing. The 360 deal allows the company to market the artist in every way possible. Artists and bands such as Maddona, Robbie Williams, the Pussycat Dolls, Cartel and Paramore, among tohers have 360 contracts.

Without doubt, we will see important and innovative movements very soon in the ever changing music industry. Check out the interview and enjoy.
